Professor Yong-Hang Zhang received MURI(Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative) Award to investigate fundamental materials properties for better infrared imaging technology, which will involve silicon-germanium-tin (SiGeSn) alloys for use in the next generation of lighter, faster and more energy efficient infrared imaging. Professor Zhang and his collaborator Professor Andrew Chizmeshya will receive approximately $2 million of a $7.5 million MURI award shared with University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Dartmouth University, UMass Boston and George Washington University.

It is worth mentioning that this is Professor Zhang’s fourth MURI award related to semiconductor optoelectronic materials and devices.
